Not born in the ocean, but called by it—Stu is a surfer, coach, and everyday adventurer who found his rhythm in the waves of Hawai‘i. Originally from the mainland, Stu didn’t grow up chasing swells or paddling out at dawn. But when he moved to Ewa Beach, something clicked. Surfing quickly became more than a hobby—it became a lifestyle and a way to connect with the people, the land, and the powerful waters of his new home.
Stu may not hold pro titles or competition trophies, but that’s what makes him the perfect coach for everyday people. He knows what it’s like to be new to the sport. He remembers the feeling of catching his first wave, standing up for the first time, and feeling completely alive. And now, he helps others experience that same joy.
His teaching style is approachable, patient, and real. Whether you’re stepping onto a board for the first time or just want to stop wiping out every third wave, Stu’s here to help you build confidence, learn solid fundamentals, and have a great time doing it. He makes sure every session is relaxed, safe, and full of good vibes—because surfing should be fun.

Outside of the water, Stu is an avid ocean lover, ocean photographer, a scuba diver and a guy who just genuinely enjoys the simple things—good coffee, good company, and good days outdoors. You can often find him riding his skateboard, electric foiling around the island or kayaking.
He’s not in it for the fame—he’s in it for the stoke. For the magic of a wave, the smile of a first-time surfer, and the community that comes from sharing something meaningful.
